Typhoon Dolphin to make landfall in East China Sun pm to Mon am

Dolphin is expected to land along the coasts of Fujian and Zhejiang between Sunday evening and Monday morning, with local weather beginning to deteriorate.

Winds strengthened further this afternoon off the coast of Zhoushan, Zhejiang, bringing rough seas with swells reaching up to ten metres.

Authorities dispatched personnel to patrol the coastline.

Workers in Zhoushan and the container terminal in Wenzhou was evacuated and heavy machinery and empty containers have been made steady.

Fujian activated level 2 emergency response for typhoon prevention, and suspended 19 coastal shipping routes. Vessels returned to harbour to take shelter.

The National Meteorological Centre of CMA forecasts continuous heavy downpours across Fujian, Taiwan, Zhejiang, Shanghai and surrounding areas from

Saturday to next Wednesday. They issued the orange alert, urging the public to take precautionary measures.
