Pope Leo marks 8th centenary of St Francis' death

Pope Leo XIV visited Assisi, Italy on Thursday on a short one day trip to mark the 8th centenary of the death of St Francis, the city's patron Saint.

In the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli the Pope met with 2,500 young people taking part in a meeting organised to celebrate St. Francis centenary.

Leo ended his visit with a mass in the basilica, where during the homely he called all Christians to become peacemakers.
