Sorrow in New Jersey after a man from El Salvador died at an immigration jail that has been the target of protests over living conditions. Edwin Lopez-Cornejo, 41, was arrested June 18, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said. A cause of death has not yet been released.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has released satellite imagery of wildfires in Washington state. The imagery shows the wildfires near Spokane between July 29 and August 3. Hundreds of homes have been destroyed.
