Hong Kong cosplayers win grand prize in World Championship in Japan

For the first time ever, two Hong Kong cosplayers won the grand prize at the World Cosplay Championship in Japan.

The finals of the World Cosplay Summit was held in Nagoya on Sunday.

The Hong Kong duo Ronnie Kui and Ar Lu won cosplaying characters from the video game Monster Hunter, having designed and crafted every costume and prop themselves before performing scenes from the game onstage.

They beat competitors from more than 40 countries and regions to clinch the title -- marking Hong Kong's first-ever championship victory since the international competition began in 2003.
