Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Russia used a North Korean ballistic missile to strike the village of Radushne near Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine.

Speaking in his daily briefing, Zelenskyy says, "there will be further investigations, and everything will be verified, but as of now-this is a North Korean ballistic missile."

The Ukrainian leader also called on international partners, including the US and Europe, to increase air defence support for Ukraine.

On Thursday, a Russian ballistic missile and drone barrage across Ukraine overnight killed at least 10 civilians, including children, and injured more than 50 others, officials said.

NATO scrambled its warplanes after one of the missiles crossed the country's western border into Poland.

United Nations spokesperson Farhan Haq says Secretary-General Antonio Guterres "strongly condemns" the Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukraine, adding the attacks are "a clear violation of international humanitarian law."
