Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii intermittently erupting

Lava could be seen bubbling up inside the Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii on Tuesday.

Kilauea is located at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on Hawaii's Big Island. It is one of the world's most active volcanoes - intermittently erupting since December 23, 2024.

The Volcano Alert level has been raised from Advisory to Watch,

as Episode 52 precursory activity began around 10.22 am Tuesday morning

which means a short-term lava fountaining event has been ongoing

in the episodic eruption of the Kilauea summit.

The episodic eruptions could coincide with the passage

of Tropical Storm Fausto heading to the north of the Hawaiian islands.

Scientists report low level wind Tuesday but if lava fountains occur

during a higher level of wind, ash and tephra will be carried to small

nearby townships and disperse material into Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
