US military conducts strikes against Iran for 13th night

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi says that seizing Iranian assets to pay for unrelated future claims is an incendiary precedent and ensuing chaos will not be pretty or peaceful.

This follows US President Donald Trump's remarks that their maritime damages or anything related thereto will be covered by Iranian money that the United States has in its possession and controls.

Araghchi warns in a post on X that once governments normalise confiscation, no one's assets are safe.

The Pentagon launched the 13th consecutive night of attacks against Iranian military targets across several provinces, including Kermanshah, Khuzestan and Bushehr, late on Thursday.

Four people have been killed and five others injured on the outskirts of Ahvaz on the Karun River, reported Iranian media.

Explosions are heard on Qeshm Island, home to stores of naval assets, and to the northwest near Andimeshk, Omidiyeh and Firuzabad.

In response, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps claims it has struck US bases and assets in Jordan and Kuwait, which inflicted personnel casualties and military losses, and stopped three oil tankers from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iran-backed Houthi militia also threatens to shut down another key trade route, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which sits at the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. Trump notes "major military punishment" against the Houthis is on the way if their attacks on ships continue.
