Train services on Hong Kong’s MTR Kwun Tong Line were briefly disrupted during the morning rush hour after a monkey entered the track area near Kowloon Bay Station.
Police received reports shortly before 7 a.m. that a monkey had been spotted on the tracks. Trains travelling in both directions were required to slow down while passing the affected section.
During the incident, Kwun Tong Line services between Tiu Keng Leng and Whampoa continued to operate at 3.5-minute intervals.
At around 7:30 am, the MTR said the monkey had left the track area on its own, and normal train services were gradually restored.
Police later received another report that the monkey had been seen near Ngau Tau Kok Station. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the animal.
