U.S. Central Command says two US service members in Jordan

were killed in Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks Friday.

The command posted the statement on social media platform X

adding one service member remains missing in action and four others

were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals.

with what appears to be by fighter jets and Tomahawk

cruise missiles.

Targets being Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defence facilities,

maritime capabilities and missile and drone storage sites.

One target site appeared to be a valley of a mountainous region.

tucked into mountain ranges.

The United States on Saturday launched its eighth consecutive night

strike on Iran to swiftly punish the country for killing two American

service members in an attack in Jordan a day earlier.

They said another service member remains missing.

US President Donald Trump tells American media outlet

NewsNation the deaths were "a very sad thing"

and that "we hate to see it happen."

The casualties bring the number of US service members

who have died in the nearly five-month long US-Iran conflict

to 16.

A news anchor on Iranian television read a statement from the country's

joint military command saying, "Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters

warns the deceitful American enemy: Iran's Armed Forces will give a

devastating response to any act of brutality."

This as Iran has ceased the fulfilment of its obligations under the peace

memorandum of understanding with the United States

as the country's supreme leader says the US violation once again

proved the Trump's signature is worthless and invalid.

And Iran's deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi

adds the United States has effectively

violated all its commitments under the MoU stressing Iran is now

focused on defending itself and there is no news of negotiation.
