Director of Housing Charmaine Lee says authorities plan to roll out new measures to increase the unit sizes of public housing projects and government-subsidised flats completed in year 2031/32 or later.
Under the proposal, the units' internal floor area will increase by around 10 percent.
The proportion of flats with large sizes among government housing will be adjusted upwards.
Starting the next fiscal year, the government plans to stipulate a minimum flat-size requirement for newly built subsidised housing as well as public rental flats intended for singletons or households with two tenants -- set at a saleable area of no less than 26 square metres.
