HK's "King of Guns" Joseph Ho sentenced to 22 months in prison

Joseph Ho Mang-keung, also known as the "King of Guns," was sentenced to 22 months behind bars after pleading guilty to possessing firearms without a licence.

The 69-year-old gun aficionado once ran a movie props company and used to be the person-in-charge of a shooting club.

In 2024, police raided a unit at an industrial building in Fo Tan and seized various weapons and canisters with toxic chemicals.

In sentencing, the judge said Ho has been a gun zealot, having held multiple gun licences and run related businesses, but because of the sentencing, he won't be able to renew his licences.

The judge added there's no evidence Ho brought his guns out of the unit and used them with illegal purposes, and handed down a prison term of 22 months.
