Pope Leo XIV has received the bishops of Hong Kong and Macao for their first ad limina visit since the pontiff assumed his role.

Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong Stephen Chow and Bishop of Macao Stephen Lee presented the Pope with a piece of Chinese calligraphy, bearing words that mean "Walking Together in Consensus."

According to Vatican News, the meeting aims to further strengthen the ties between the two local Churches and the Holy See.

Bishops from around the world are generally required to make an ad limina visit to the Vatican every five years to report on the state of their dioceses.
