Robbers take 8 million yen from Chinese woman in Tokyo

A Chinese woman has been robbed and injured near Tokyo's Ikebukuro Station Wednesday night, with close to 8 million Japanese yen taken from her bag.

Kyodo news reports the victim told police that two individuals forcibly took her shoulder bag during the robbery.

It is believed the suspects sprayed the woman with an unidentified substance, struck her on the head and then took her bag.

She sustained minor head injuries and a witness called emergency services on her behalf.

Tokyo police are investigating the case.
