Govt has proposed a uniform 2 percent pay rise for all civil servants

The government has proposed a uniform 2 percent pay rise for all civil servants, without following the net salary trend indicator results. The Civil Service Bureau met with civil servant groups this morning, and some representatives expressed dissatisfaction with the increase. Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung met with representatives from four civil servant groups, including the Police Force Council and the Hong Kong Chinese Civil Servants' Association. The Police Force Council's labour representatives said after the meeting that they had expressed dissatisfaction with the pay rise to the Bureau. Ingrid Yeung said the pay increase must take into account the geopolitical situation and government finances.
