UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to visit China from Monday

Beijing confirms British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper will embark on a trip to China from June 1 to 3 and hold the 11th China-UK Strategic Dialogue.

She is slated to hold talks with her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and Vice President Han Zheng on June 2, before heading south to the tech hub of Shenzhen for a programme about science and technology. Among the topics on the agenda include Iran's Strait of Hormuz, the Russia-Ukraine war and the Ebola outbreak in Africa, according to media reports.

Cooper is expected to arrive in India later in the week to meet the country's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and meet business leaders and officials who will be delivering on the UK-India Vision 2035 initiative.
