Gas explosion injures woman

A suspected gas explosion occurred in a unit in Lam Tin Estate, leaving a woman with burns who was taken to the hospital.

The incident occurred in a unit in Lam Pik House. Police and firefighters arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area outside the building.

A large amount of debris was scattered in the open space outside.

Police received multiple reports of an explosion around 10:30 a.m.

Officers arrived at the scene and evacuated residents of the third floor to safety.

Firefighters dispatched fire trucks to the scene and shut off the gas supply.

A woman was found inside the unit with burns to 40% of her skin and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
