President Donald Trump says Iran’s “negotiating on fumes” and insists this year’s midterm elections won't factor in on his approach to the nearly three-month-old conflict.

Speaking at the start of a Cabinet meeting Wednesday, Trump expressed confidence that “a deal is near.”
