Girl falls to death after "cliff swing" accident in Sichuan

A girl fell to her death after she was involved in a "cliff swing" accident in Sichuan over the course of the mainland's Golden Week holiday period.

The accident happened on Monday in an adventure park in Huaying when a girl participating in the swing ride was suspected to have taken off without her harness being worn properly.

She subsequently plummeted to the ground after falling from a height of over 160 metres.

She was later confirmed dead as she was being brought to the hospital.

Local authorities have classified the case as a production safety responsibility accident and will continue their investigation.

Operations at the park have been temporarily suspended.
