A nine-year-old boy at a housing estate in Tin Shui Wai was found climbing onto a canopy and was rescued by firefighters. His 59-year-old grandmother was arrested.
Police received the report at around 2 p.m. The boy was unhurt but sent to hospital for examination. It is understood the boy and his 11-year-old sister had gone to the park near Hang Kwai House to play without adult supervision. When the boy's paper airplane got stuck on a canopy above a walkway, he climbed up to retrieve it. A security guard passing by spotted him and called the police.
The children's grandmother was arrested on suspicion of ill-treatment or neglect by a person having custody of a child or young person.
