New temporary pedestrian passageway along the Central Harbourfront opens today

A new temporary pedestrian passageway along the Central Harbourfront opens today, connecting the Central Pier and ifc mall.

The passageway is located at a new shopping mall currently under construction and comes with a 24-hour air-conditioning system.

The section near the Central Pier has a semi-open design.

It takes around 1 to 2 minutes longer to reach the Central Pier through the new passageway than the original footbridge.

The footbridge that had been in use for 19 years is permanently closed starting today and will be dismantled.
