Expense declarations of lawmakers showed revealing facts

More than two months after the Legislative Council election, the expense declarations of 161 candidates have been released.

A candidate spent 180,000 dollars on personal image management, while another declared over 20,000 dollars on parking.

Christine Fong, who ran for the 6th time and won her seat with the highest tally, declared expenses of 1.18 million dollars, lower than her previous two campaigns.

Olympic fencing gold medalist Vivian Kong, who ran in the tourism constituency, spent just over 110,000 dollars.

Jody Kwok Fu-yung from the DAB Party spent over 180,000 dollars on her personal image management, including portrait photography, makeup and styling.

Kwok said it was normal expenses and made no further comments.

Tommy Chung Ki-fung from the Import/export sector declared parking fees for about one month, totalling over 20,000 dollars.
