Several districts experienced sudden voltage dips in the evening.

Within an hour from about 6:30 p.m., the Fire Services Department received about 50 cases of citizens being trapped in lifts in Sha Tin, Ma On Shan, Tsuen Wan, Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi districts.

No one was sent to hospital.

A CLP spokesperson says the power dip happened at around 6:29 p.m. but there was no power cut. Some electronic installations that are more sensitive to the change of voltages might suspend operations after its protection mechanism was triggered.
