Macao's marking 26th anniversary of handover

Today marks the 26th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland.

A flag-raising ceremony and a celebration reception were held in the morning.

The ceremony was officiated by Macao's Chief Executive Sam Hou-fai.

He quoted President Xi Jinping as saying the enclave's future work includes taking the initiative to align with the nation's "15th Five-Year Plan."

Meeting the press after the reception, Sam said that Macao should promote economic diversification and development, and will increase policy support and capital investment.
