Families provide DNA samples to identify Tai Po fire victims

The government says it has roughly completed the distribution of the 10,000-dollar emergency subsidy to nearly two thousand affected households of the Tai Po Fire.

In addition, scaffolding netting at 224 private buildings across Hong Kong have been removed as ordered as of 5 p.m. on Monday.

Police are collecting DNA samples from families of those still missing.

The hope is it will assists with identifying remains.

Police set up at the Kwong Fuk Community Hall in Tai Po. Oral swabs will help with DNA testing.

Thirty-one people remain missing.
