The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation held its first "Rhythm of Innovation" event on Friday, bringing together promising university interns, startups and industry leaders.

The aim is to explore cutting-edge technology trends and facilitate collaboration among the groups.

This year's internship programmes held by Science Park received record applications of more than 5,000, from which 450 talented youngsters were selected.

The organisation also has other programmes, such as "Ideation", which helps to spark breakthrough concepts, and "Incubation" for accelerating tech startups.

Science Park says it is dedicated to providing support for talent and enterprises at all stages.

The "Rhythm of Innovation" event brings the various programmes together for networking and possible cooperation.

So far, I have networked with a whole bunch of great founders, but also with a lot of new friends from all around the world. And that's been great so far.

In terms of startup development programmes, 570 teams from 18 different economies graduated, having secured investments and market traction.

"What the Ideation programme contributed was the knowledge, but also the network to make it happen. And of course the funding," said Thomas Butter, founder and CEO of Movaia Tech Ltd.

"Rhythm of Innovation" is a hub where talents can transform ideas into reality and startups thrive. Looking ahead, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks is committed to fostering a vibrant innovation ecosystem to accelerate Hong Kong's technological advancement.
