Standby Signal No. 1 issued

The observatory issued the Standby Signal No. 1 at 9:20 a.m. as Tropical Depression Mitag continues to move away from Hong Kong and weaken.

The rainbands associated with Mitag are still bringing squally showers and thunderstorms to the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary.

Rain is particularly heavy in Chek Lap Kok and there may be serious flooding.
