Temperature may drop to 16 degrees on Tuesday due to cold front

The Observatory predicts a cold front is set to sweep across the city with temperatures dropping significantly in the next two days.

Urban areas may record a minimum temperature of just 16 degrees Celsius on Tuesday morning.

Weather authorities expect the cold front will sweep across the Guangdong coastline on Monday morning, after which a strong northeast monsoon will lead to the mercury dropping to around 19 degrees during the evening.

The Observatory also noted the New Territories will remain relatively cooler until Wednesday. This as a weakened monsoon by the latter half of the week will see temperatures in the city return to a high of 27 degrees.
