Xinhua launches world's first humanoid robot anchors

Xinhua News Agency launched the world's first humanoid robot anchors designed by renowned film director Zhang Yimou.

The two anchors, jointly developed by Xinhua and mainland robotics manufacturer UBTECH Robotics, premiered at the seventh World Media Summit.

This as Zhang Yimou said the humanoid robots' design took solemnity and approachability into consideration.

The two anchors were also fitted with essential information from the Xinhua Dictionary in a bid to prevent risks of reporting fake news.

This as Xinhua noted the robots will assist reports and editors in completing news reports and presenting news in various languages.
