FEHD captures nearly 110,000 live rodents in first three quarters

The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department captured nearly 110,000 live rodents in the first three quarters of the year, exceeding last year's total.

Online footage recently revealed large groups of rats gathered in back alleys beside restaurants in Hung Hom, Tai Kok Tsui, and Kwai Chung.

The FEHD stated it caught 77 rodents in Hung Hom over the past two months and dispatched night-time pest control teams to affected areas.

A pest control expert noted urban rats were highly intelligent and cautious, recommending flexible strategies, regular inspections, and improved street cleanliness.
