Russia confirms Putin’s attendance at APEC 2026 in Shenzhen

During his meeting with Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines

of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in

Asia summit in Baku, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed

Russian President Vladimir Putin's attendance at APEC 2026 meetings

in Shenzhen next month where he will be meeting with

President Xi Jinping.

Wang said Xi and Putin held fruitful meetings in May and

August this year, steering the China-Russia comprehensive strategic

partnership of coordination for a new era toward sustained high-level

development.

A statement from Russia said the two ministers "praised the development

dynamics of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation,"

and that discussions focused on relations with United states and the

situations around Ukraine and Iran.
