Kwun Tong-Tiu Keng Leng MTR train resuming normalcy

MTR said the service along Kwun Tong line is resuming normalcy gradually after the trackside fire at Lam Tin Station is handled.

MTR said the trackside fire at Lam Tin Station has been put out, and safety checks are ongoing.

MTR said owing to fire near the tracks at Lam Tin Station along the Kwun Tong Line, trains between Kwun Tong and Whampoa are now running every 4 minutes at around 6 pm.

The disruption came during the off-work rush hour with service between Kwun Tong and Tiu Keng Leng temporarily suspended.

MTRC is arranging free shuttle buses between Kwun Tong, Lam Tin and Yau Tong Stations, adding that there will be more staff deployed on site to assist passengers. The free MTR shuttle bus service should be operating at affected station(s) around 45 minutes after the rail service suspension, depending on road traffic conditions as it will take time to organize, the rail operator said.

MTRC said passengers along the affected stations could consider using alternative MTR Lines or other transport.

For bus operator KMB, due to the suspension of MTR train services between Kwun Tong and Tiu Keng Leng stations on the Kwun Tong Line, KMB is deploying resources to enhance service on the following routes:
