Police have busted a Vietnamese criminal group in West Kowloon which allegedly involved in drug trafficking and loan shark activities.

They rounded up 127 people, including 10 alleged ringleaders and key members with more than 2 million dollars worth of cash and valuables seized.

Earlier this year, the group came under the police's radar after they allegedly leveraged hometown associations to recruit members for loan shark and other illegal banking activities.

They are also suspected of offering one-stop services and accommodation for Vietnamese who illegally entered Hong Kong providing them with forged Hong Kong ID cards and work permits which cost 2,000 to 2,500 dollars each.

The group also operates unlicensed bars and illegal gambling dens in West Kowloon.

Altogether, the syndicate's monthly revenues exceed one million dollars. Police are not ruling out more arrests.
