Open bidding for the Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair stalls for next year kicked off today for three consecutive days. Among them, a fast-food stall located near the Tin Hau MTR station exit was auctioned off for a top bid of HK$280,000, roughly 20% higher than last year.

For 2027, Lunar New Year's Day of the Year of the Goat falls on February 6. The Lunar New Year Fair will run for seven consecutive days starting January 31. The fair at Victoria Park, the largest in Hong Kong, features 400 stalls, over half of which are dry goods stalls. Bidding is being held over three days at the Lai Chi Kok Government Offices.

The first day of bidding covers four fast-food stalls and the wet goods stalls. Opening bids for the fast-food stalls started at around HK120,000. One stall situated near the Tin Hau MTR station exit fetched the highest winning bid of HK280,000 after 11 rounds of bidding, up about 20% compared to last year.

The winning bidder, Mr. Ho, mentioned that he ran a snack stall at the Mong Kok Flower Market in 2026 and is moving his operations to Victoria Park next year, adding that the price was within his expectations.
