Meeting between US and China continues framework from previous summit

A scholar says this meeting between the two sides continue to implemente the framework yielded from the two leaders' previous summit.

And a business representative suggest Xi makes it clear China is a place where business gets done.

President Xi Jinping's three-day state visit to the United States has received an extraordinarily high-level reception.

Marking the second Xi-Trump summit between President Xi and US President Donald Trump this year, but with few tangible and concrete deals made,

some believe that the actual outcomes from this meeting are relatively limited.

But a scholar explains these meetings successfully sustained and implemented the groundwork set during their previous engagement.

LIZZI LEE, Fellow on the Chinese Economy, Asia Society Policy Institute's Center for China Analysis said

"I think predictability is essentially critical. I mean, as you know, predictability, stability affects market moods, and market moods affects a lot of things.

I think both sides achieve some kind of a predictability at least for another two months, which is a value in and of itself.

Neither sides appear to have traded away their core interest.

Looking ahead, the two leaders are expected to meet twice more on the upcoming APEC summit and the G20 summit.

A business consultant suggests that China is the winner with growing leverages and stability, which open doors for investment.

CARY O'REILLY\Consultant on Sino-US Business Relations said "What is very helpful to Xi now is to be able to concentrate on

that without having to worry so much about what Trump might do, China will come to the summit and point out that it's point out that it is stable.

It is a place that where you want to invest. It is a place where business gets done."

He also said that the high level conversation between the Chinese and US leaders will provide better ground for business cooperation.
