HKMU unveils maiden student residence MU88

The Hong Kong Metropolitan University opens its first student residence, MU88, which will offer accommodation for around 400 students and visiting scholars.

Located on Wuhu Street in Hung Hom, the facility is within a few minutes of walking distance from the Ho Man Tin MTR Station.

Its single rooms, double rooms and triple rooms come with basic furnishings and their own bathroom.

It's the first batch of converted student hostels completed under the government's "Hostels in the City" Scheme.

HKMU council chairman Conrad Wong says the new hostel aims to attract more non-local and exchange students to help the university go more international.
