NORAD intercepts 2 planes violating air space near Trump event

Two aircraft were intercepted after they violated restricted airspace near US President Donald Trump's event in New Jersey.

Trump attended an event at his golf club in New Jersey on Sunday before departing for Washington. US media reported that during the event, two planes violated temporary flight restrictions and entered the airspace around the club. The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) scrambled F-16 fight jets to intercept and escort the two planes away.

It is currently unclear why the aircraft violated the flight restrictions. The US military urged pilots to consult the latest aviation notices from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) before flying, in order to obtain timely updates on any flight restrictions.
