Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha was officially presented by Colo-Colo on Tuesday after completing his move from Portuguese second-division side Chaves.
The 40-year-old became one of the breakout stars of the FIFA World Cup with Cape Verde and said joining Chile's most successful club fulfils his dream of playing for a big club. Although he received several offers, Vozinha said Colo-Colo was always his priority and described the move as the best moment of his club career.
Vozinha also explained the importance of wearing "Vozinha" on the back of his shirt. Chilean football authorities granted an exception allowing him to use his nickname instead of his surname, a decision he said means a great deal because the name pays tribute to his grandparents and has been with him throughout his football career.
Vozinha arrived in Santiago on Sunday to a warm welcome from Colo-Colo supporters, trained with the squad on Tuesday and could make his debut as early as Sunday.
