Radiation levels remain normal as Chernobyl battles wildfire

Ukrainian firefighters extinguished a wildfire covering 130 hectares in the Chernobyl exclusion zone on Saturday, the country's state emergency service said.

According to the service, efforts to contain three other blazes were continuing.

Firefighting operations have been complicated by a lack of nearby water sources, requiring crews to transport water over long distances.

The Ukraine State Emergency Service said radiation levels in the exclusion zone remained within normal limits.
