China delivers a statement on behalf of nearly 20 countries at the UN Human Rights council to condemn the practice of unilateral tariff under the pretext of "forced labour."
China's permanent representative and ambassador to the UN Office at Geneva Jia Guide says the countries firmly oppose forced labour.
But they are also seriously concerned about the imposition of additional duties on economies on the basis of unilateral accusations alleging a failure to curb imports of goods produced with so-called forced labour.
The statement emphasised that China urges relevant countries to refrain from weaponising human rights.
The joint statement was cosponsored by Russia, Pakistan, Venezuela, Sudan and Cambodia, among others.
