The Hong Kong Trade Development Council celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.

Its chairman Fred Ma says in TVB's Straight Talk programme that there are the two things he wants to achieve during his tenure.

One is to help Hong Kong companies expand into Belt and Road markets, the other is to build a new convention centre to meet growing demand.

Another thing I really want to achieve is to see whether we can find land to build another Convention Centre.Because our current Convention Centre is too small.

We only have net area of about 700-something thousand square feet. That's too small for Hong Kong. Of course, you have AWE and all that. But I think for Convention Centre, we could use more space.Once you have more space, you'll be able to do a lot more. Look at Kai Tak. See what Kai Tak can do for Hong Kong.
