Yemeni adventurer dies falling into volcano crater

An adventurer who climbs without safety equipment dies after falling into a volcano crater in Yemen.

Al-Qaqa Ibn Antar, known as the "Spider-Man of Yemen" lost his grip and fell into the 120-metre Hardah Dam volcanic crater on Friday.

Rescue teams, including diving and water specialists, retrieved Antar's body at a depth of 30 metres below the water surface.

The four-hour search and rescue operation was described as "complex" due to the steep and rocky location which made access difficult.

Antar had gained fame online where he posted videos of himself performing high-risk stunts in various rugged places in Yemen.
