The Hong Kong SAR government will launch public consultation tomorrow on Hong Kong's first Five-Year Plan. Financial Secretary Paul Chan expressed his hope for more exchanges and discussions to fully leverage Hong Kong's advantages and work together to accomplish significant goals.

In his blog post, Chan said the national "15th Five-Year Plan" has provided strategic direction for Hong Kong. The consultation needs to focus on exploring how to combine Hong Kong's advantages and characteristics, address shortcomings, implement concrete paths, and amplify development dividends. He indicated that a deep reflection on the past is necessary to envision the future with a macro perspective.

Paul Chan also pointed out that the emergence of outstanding companies in the national innovation and technology sector has driven the continuous improvement of the "technology content" of Hong Kong stocks.

New economy companies account for about 25% of the total market capitalization of Hong Kong stocks, and stock market liquidity continues to increase. The average daily turnover in the first five months exceeded HK$270 billion, an increase of 14% year-on-year. Goods exports in the first four months increased by about 35%.

He also announced that he will travel to Shanghai and Nanjing this week to discuss further coordinated development of Shanghai-Hong Kong finance.
