3 unconscious after Mid-Levels apartment fire

Three people were taken to hospital unconscious after a fire broke out at a residential building in Mid-Levels.

Initial investigation found drug paraphernalia in the flat, and officials suspect the fire may have started due to smoking or drug taking.

The incident occurred at Regal Crest on Robinson Road. Police received reports shortly before 11 a.m. that smoke was seen coming from a middle-floor flat in the building. Firefighters and fire engines were deployed to the scene.

Rescue personnel evacuated two women and one man from the unit. All three were found unconscious and were rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. Nearly 50 residents were evacuated as a precaution.
