Continuing his China trip, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer landed in Shanghai Friday afternoon and toured around some of the city's popular attractions.

Starmer was accompanied by a delegation of over 50 company representatives from his country, spanning manufacturing, green energy, finance, and high-tech industries.

The Foreign Ministry says meetings are scheduled between the prime minister and senior executives of British companies operating in the Chinese financial centre.

Starmer took a rainy stroll at Shanghai's historic Yuyuan Garden, which is adorned with horse-shaped lanterns to mark the upcoming lunar new year. He also tasted the famous snack of butterfly cookies.

Starmer's schedule is expected to include a stop at the Bund, home to many UK companies' Asia-Pacific and Greater China headquarters.
