The Education Bureau is proposing a practising certificate requirement for teachers in Hong Kong.
Under the new measure, teachers will have to renew their certificates every three years.
This as the government is amending the Education Ordinance.
Sources say teachers will be required to complete 150 hours of professional development training within the three-year period, while having no criminal record.
The proposal is scheduled for discussion by the Legislative Council on February 6.
If approved, the measure will start in the 2027/28 academic year.
