Financial Secretary Paul Chan concluded his trip to the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

He noted that many global leaders were positive about developments in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.

Writing on his weekly blog, the finance chief said this year's summit brought together some 3,000 political and business leaders across the globe.

During the annual meeting, Paul Chan spoke with a number of key figures, such as WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

Chan said while global fragmentation was more pronounced than ever this year, most of the nations agree that the world cannot afford to slide back into the "law of the jungle."

He said the steady inflow of capital and resilient market performance in Hong Kong have caught the eye of leaders at the forum, many of whom expressed interest in the city's economic development.
