President Xi Jinping met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who was visiting China.
Xi said he is pleased that China-Canada relations had entered a new phase since last year, with cooperation resuming in various fields.
Xi said the healthy and stable development of China-Canada relations is in the common interest of both countries.
Xi said: “I am willing to work with you, with a responsible attitude towards history, the people, and the world, to further improve China-Canada relations.”
Carney thanked China for its warm hospitality and pointed out that China and Canada are moving towards a new strategic partnership, with significant progress expected in cooperation in agriculture, energy, and finance.
