Security is tight across cities in the U.S. ahead of the New Year's celebrations with law enforcement on the look out for potential threats in the wake of the Bondi Beach attack in Australia and last year's attack in New Orleans.

This as New York City police say there are no specific threats in their city. NBC News reports.
