Israel and Hamas are planning to move into the second phase of a ceasefire deal when the Palestinian group returns the remains of the last hostage which is expected in the coming days.

Stage two will see the deployment of an international security force in Gaza and a temporary Palestinian government under the supervision of an international board.

Benjamin Netanyahu has been speaking about a third phase which he says would see Gaza "deradicalized".

Israel's Prime Minister was meeting with U.S. ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, to further discuss President Trump's ceasefire.

The US and the United Nations say they are fully committed to the proposal.

Hamas is searching for the remains of the last dead Israeli hostage killed in the October 7th attack.

The return of the body of twenty-four-year-old police officer, Ran Gvili, should see the peace process move forward.

The political wing of the Palestinian group say it'll lay down or "freeze and store" weapons.

A member of the Hamas political bureau said, "We are talking about on one line to end fully the first phase, second to initiate a political process which has to end with an independent Palestinian state and during this time we can go for five, seven, ten years of ceasefire."
