National Guardsmen shot in US capital, Trump says gunman will pay

A gunman opened fire on National Guard troops just two blocks away from the White House, near a busy metro station.

Police and guard members took down the suspect as medics fought to save one of the guards on the ground.

President Donald Trump said the shooter will pay a price, as he ordered more National Guards into the city.
